SPILLERS TRAILBLAZERS FINALS 2007

We have returned from our stay at Stoneleigh, exhausted and a bit burnt!  What a fantastic five days, probably even better than last year.  It was great to see so many of our friends do so well.  Congratulations to Laura Harrison and Jet Set who won the Senior Novice Dressage, Laura used to work with us here at MEC and along with her mum, Kath, have been great supporters of Trailblazers over the years.  A well deserved win and we look forward to seeing Laura and Jet progress further.  Also congratulations to Jane Dews and Cas Emperor who were fourth in the Novice Dressage.  Stephanie Beal & Cash missed out on the placings this year but put in fantastic performances - what a way for Steph and her twin sister Mel to celebrate their 18th birthday.  Jessica Robinson and Just Enough Ginger came 9th in their preliminary group- well done!  The showjumping classes were held over three days this year.  Jess Randall and Seamus finished 15th out of their huge class of over 85 competitors in the 75cm class, Sue Roebuck and Penny just missed out after having the last fence in the 85cm class. A fantastic achievement for both combinations. (for pictures see below).  Congratulations to everyone who qualified here at Moorhouse and put in such fantastic performances in both disciplines.

We are already planning Stoneleigh 2008 - we are sure its going to be even better than this year.  Our SEIBTrailblazers Showjumping and Dressage qualifying for the Spillers Trailblazers Second Rounds are underway now and we look forward to welcoming you at MEC.  Further info is available on our Trailblazers Showjumping and Dressage pages.

Trailblazers is an organisation developed for the enthusiastic rider and sponsored by Spillers, South Essex Insurance Brokers and Horse Magazine. It is a competition structure suitable for the true amateur/recreational rider with four levels of show jumping competitions over heights of .75M / .85M / .95M and 1.05M and three levels of dressage comprising of Preliminary, Novice and Elementary. These competitions are split into Senior and Junior sections and run over two rounds, culminating in a Final.

Approved Trailblazers Centres – promoting the Trailblazer concept, run the first two rounds of the competition.

There is one second round competition per participating venue and these will run from 17th March, 2007 to 13th May, 2007. In both dressage and show jumping there will be 4 to qualify for show jumping at each level and 5 to qualify for dressage at each level (subject to change) for the Grand Final which will be held at Stoneleigh Park (formerly Royal Show Ground)  1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th August, 2007. Juniors classes for riders 16 years and under and not to have attained their 17th birthday by the 1st day of the National Championships.

Qualification for dressage second rounds will be on class percentage, with all tests at 58% and over gaining qualification at that level. Qualification for show jumping second rounds will consist of a double clear in a height class and will entitle that rider and horse/pony to compete in any number of qualifying second rounds at that height class.

In the event of a partnership ceasing the qualification ceases.

Once a competitor has qualified they will be issued with an envelope containing a congratulatory letter telling them that they have qualified from the Centre they qualified at. The competitor will then have the choice to either take up the qualification or not. Should the competitor choose to accept the qualification for the second rounds, he/she will return the congratulatory letter (within 14 days) to the Centre where you qualified,  together with a cheque for £12.00, made payable to the Centre of Qualification and with TWO stamped addressed envelopes to the Centre they qualified at.  One will be used to return a yellow Qualification Card; the other will be used to forward details of that Centres second rounds.

Trailblazer competition dates are on the web page (just click the button on the left hand side of the page - marked 1st Rounds).  If you require a Rule Book they are available from your nearest Centre at a cost of £2.00 or alternatively send a 229mm x 162mm (A5) stamped addressed envelope and a postal order for £2.00 to :

Trailblazers showing is starting all over the country! Trailblazers has launched a BRAND NEW showing series which will culminate in a Final at Stoneleigh Park on Saturday 26th July and Sunday 27th July, 2008. Every competitor will compete on both days under different top class judges.

Centres all over the country are applying at the moment to run this exiting new series. You will need to be registered with Trailblazers this will cost you nothing, just fill in a registration form at the Centre when you go. If you have already filled one in for the dressage or the show jumping you will not need to do so again. If you are lucky enough to qualify for the Semi Finals you can obtain your Qualification Card on the same day at the Centre where you qualified.
