HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Another year is drawing to a close - its had some highs and lows. We said a sad goodbye to two good friends to us here at Moorhouse - BSJA Coursebuilder, Peter White, who passed away in November. Peter was a lovely guy, the only man who could ever call me Princess without me wanting to call him something quite rude in response! An absolute sweetheart, I have very fond memories of him teaching my son, then aged 6, the finer points of BSJA coursebuilding! Sadly, just before Christmas, Gordon Reid also passed away. A true gentleman, he too will also be very much missed here at Moorhouse, he would always have a bit of banter with the staff and admire the collection of dogs we have between us! It hasn't all been sad this year ... we had a new baby in February - Musical Fair's lovely colt "Leapy" born on 29 February. Hopefully he will go on to have a wonderful racing career. "Moo" will be coming back shortly as she is expecting another youngster. We had a great year at the Trailblazers Finals in July/August - so many of our staff/kids/liveries qualified for the showing, dressage and showjumping and going on to do really well. Our girls - Emily, Abbie & Lucy also represented their Area in the Riding Clubs Dressage Championships. So lets look forward to 2009 - another great year of competition here at Moorhouse, plus lots more changes and improvements scheduled to take place - keep checking back for updates! Thank you to all our staff, liveries, competitors and friends for their continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back at MEC in the New Year and wish everyone health, peace and prosperity for the new year ahead.
*CHRISTMAS SHOW* What a cracker!! Thank you to everyone who came along to our annual Christmas Show. Our Fancy Dress competitors were amazing this year - pics to follow. Thank you to Yorkshire Outside Catering for their very generous sponsorship. As always the pairs jumping was very entertaining - Jessica and Natasha Hewitt were the winners - well done girls. The most entertaining costumes had to be "Trinny & Tranny" (sorry!!) Sue Roebuck & Humphrey and Sarah Hall & Jasper who really got into the spirit with fishnets, freckles, plaits and in Sue's case - huge boobs! A great day's competition and we look forward to seeing you all in 2009.
**MERRY CHRISTMAS**

PLEASE SIGN OUR GOVERNMENT PETITION FOR A CHANGE IN THE HORSE PASSPORT LAW - We believe that the current passport system is largely ineffective and needs some changes if it is to stop stolen horses being sold on. We are also asking for traders who are authorised to issue passports to be C.R.B. checked, and for a national passport database to be set up that would be instantly accessible by vets and police. You can find the petition at http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/horsepassports/. Please sign it.
